SearchGPT - even the name sounds like a direct challenge to Google, doesn't it?
This talk about SearchGPT reminds me of when I first stumbled upon ChatGPT.
I remember thinking, "Wow, this is so helpful and mindblowing, but how's it going to change my life?"
Fast forward a bit, and now I can't imagine tackling a tricky coding problem or brainstorming ideas without it.
So when I heard about SearchGPT, I got that same tingly feeling of excitement.
It's like OpenAI is saying, "Remember how ChatGPT changed the game? Well, hold onto your hats!"
we think there is room to make search much better than it is today.
we are launching a new prototype called SearchGPT:
we will learn from the prototype, make it better, and then integrate the tech into ChatGPT to make it real-time and maximally helpful.

Now, I'll be honest, when I first heard about this, I thought, "Yeah, yeah, another 'Google killer' that'll probably fizzle out." '
But then I remembered how skeptical I was about ChatGPT initially, and I looked at how that turned out! I use it almost daily now.
The fact that SearchGPT is citing its sources is a big deal too. I can't tell you how often I've found the perfect fact for a project, only to realize I have no idea where it came from. This could be a real time-saver for students and researchers.
Of course, we'll have to wait and see if it lives up to the hype.
What about you?
Are you itching to give it a try, or are you more of an "I'll believe it when I see it" kind of person?
AI has been talked about a lot lately making pictures and putting artists out of work, right?
Well, Adobe, the company that makes Photoshop, has a different idea. They think AI can actually help artists, not replace them.
Adobe's adding some cool new AI features to their software:
There's a tool where you can draw a shape, and then tell the AI to fill it with cool textures or details.
They've improved a feature that lets you create unique patterns for things like wallpaper.
They've added their latest AI image generator right into Photoshop.
Here's what makes Adobe different:
They say they only train their AI on images they have permission to use. They're not sneaking around using artists' work without asking.
So how are artists dealing with all this AI stuff?
Many of them say, "Hey, we've got creativity that AI can't match!" But they're not ignoring AI either. Instead, they're finding a middle ground. They might come up with designs on their own, and then use AI to add some special touches or effects.
It's kind of like having a really smart assistant who can help you with the little details, but you're still the boss of the big creative ideas.

Meta's new brainchild - Llama 3.1 is here
Source @lexica
Trust me, this isn't just another tech update; it's like they've given their AI a superhero transformation!
Do you know how sometimes a tiny change can make a huge difference? That's Llama 3.1 in a nutshell.
Meta took their previous model and cranked it up to eleven. We're talking about going from 70 billion parameters to a mind-blowing 405 billion. It's like they've turned their smart kid into a genius overnight!
You might be wondering, "Okay, but what does that mean for me?"
Why It's Better:
Outperforms GPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Sonnet across several key benchmarks
Offers unmatched flexibility and control for customization
Efficiency boost for 8b and 70b models
What you shouldn’t miss out on is- unlike those other AIs that keep their secrets locked up tight, Meta's throwing open the doors and saying, "Come on in!" They're letting anyone and everyone peek under the hood and even make tweaks.
It's like they're hosting the world's biggest tech potluck, and everyone's invited to bring their own special sauce.
They've also added this super cool feature called 'Imagine Me'. It's like having a genie on your phone.
You just type something like "Imagine me as a rockstar," and poof! It whips up a picture for you.
I’m super excited to use it. What about you?
