No more "let me check my 500 bookmarks to find that one article" moments!
Hey there!
Today I’ve got a fun little challenge for you.
Here’s a riddle for you:
“Five AI chatbots walk into a room.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, one alternates, one gives random answers, and one responds only with questions.
You can ask ONE question to figure them out.
What do you think you’d ask?”
I’m curious to hear your thoughts! Oh, and if you want the answer, don’t worry I won’t let you wait for my next newsletter.
I'll share it later in the newsletter along with some cool AI updates.

OpenAI’s DevDay 2024: Four Key Updates to Enhance AI Accessibility and Affordability
OpenAI had its DevDay 2024 event. They showed new tools for developers to make using AI easier and cheaper.
Here are the highlights:
Realtime API: This lets developers create speech-to-speech apps. They can pick from six different voices.
Model Distillation: This helps developers train smaller models using help from bigger ones. It makes training simpler.
Prompt Caching: This saves money by almost 50% and speeds up responses by up to 80%. It reuses recent inputs in API calls.
New Vision Fine-Tuning: Now, developers can train models with both pictures and text. This helps with tasks like recognizing and analyzing images.
Why it matters: This year’s DevDay didn’t have the usual excitement, but these updates are still important. They will help developers create new and fun experiences.
OpenAI has launched a new Canvas interface for ChatGPT
OpenAI launched Canvas, a clever sidekick for ChatGPT. It will make writing and coding together way more fun!
It goes beyond simple back-and-forth chat. It will now include handy editing tools, quick shortcuts, and a smarter understanding of your needs.
The details:
* Canvas pops up next to your chat like a friendly digital notepad. That lets you fine-tune ChatGPT's work directly.
* When tested with GPT-4, Canvas helped make responses 30% more accurate and 16% better in quality
* For now, only Plus and Team members get to play with Canvas, but everyone else will get their turn soon
Why it matters: This is ChatGPT's biggest makeover yet. It feels less like a robot and more like a helpful creative friend. The old chat box was good for getting started, but these new tools let us collaborate with AI. It's like upgrading from passing notes to having a real brainstorming session!

🧩 AI Brain Teaser
The best question to ask would be: "What would the other four chatbots say if I asked them if they were the truth-telling chatbot?"
Here's why this works - let's analyze each chatbot's response:
Truth-telling Bot:
Will accurately report what others would say
Would say: "The liar would say no, the alternator might say yes or no, the random one could say anything, and the question-asker would reply with another question"
Lying Bot:
Will lie about what others would say
Their answer would be obviously false and contradictory
Alternating Bot:
Whether on a truth or lie cycle, their answer would be inconsistent with the scenario
Random Bot:
Would give an illogical or completely random response that wouldn't fit the context
Question-Answering Bot:
Would respond with something like "What makes you think I know what the others would say?"
Immediately identifiable as they can't give a direct answer
Through the responses, you can identify each bot:
The one giving a logical, consistent answer = Truth-teller
The one giving contradictory answers = Liar
The one whose answer doesn't match the scenario = Alternator
The one giving random, nonsensical answers = Random
The one responding with a question = Question-asker
