🪰 Buzz Around AI

Imagine you're scrolling through your phone, sipping your morning coffee.

Then suddenly, your eyes widen at a headline that seems straight out of a tech thriller.

That's exactly how I felt when I stumbled upon the latest OpenAI bombshell.

It's pretty wild!

Some hackers managed to sneak into OpenAI's internal chats last year. The New York Times just broke the story, and it's causing quite a stir.

Can you believe it? I don’t know why such a big tech company like OpenAI gets hacked and then keeps it quiet. That's pretty major.

This whole thing went down in 2023, and we're only hearing about it now. OpenAI kept things hush-hush. No public announcement, no nothing!

So here's the scoop: Early last year, some hackers managed to sneak into an online forum. OpenAI employees were chatting about their latest tech stuff.

The team saw a lot of internal AI design discussions but didn't get their hands on the core systems.

In April 2023, OpenAI informed its employees and board about it, but not the public or police!

There's more drama, too.

Remember Leopold Aschenbrenner, that researcher who got fired for supposedly leaking sensitive information?

Well, after this hack happened, he wrote a memo criticising OpenAI's security. It makes you wonder if that played a role in his firing, doesn't it?

Since then, OpenAI has been trying to up its security game. They even brought in Paul Nakasone, who used to run the NSA, to help out with a new safety committee.

What do you think about all this? Pretty wild, huh?
