🪰 Buzz Around AI

You know how in Marvel movies, sometimes a superhero leaves the Avengers to do their own thing, but then comes back with new powers?

Well, that's just happening in the AI world, and it's blowing everyone's minds.

I’m amazed to see how fascinated people are with AI. Like literally they live on it.

Noam Shazeer, this super smart AI lover, was working with Google.

But in 2021, he's like, "Nah, I'm gonna do my own thing," and created Character AI with his friend Daniel De Freitas.

They weren't messing around with boring AI.

They were all, "Let's make AI that's fun!" So they created Character.ai. a platform where you can create your own AI buddies.

But here's what all the buzz is about.

Last Friday, Shazeer dropped this bomb: he's heading back to Google!

And he's bringing the whole squad – De Freitas and a bunch of their crew.

It's like they finished their epic quest and decided to return to their home base, but now with legendary gear and skills.

Google's not buying Character AI outright – that'd be too obvious, and the government's watching big tech like a hawk these days.

Instead, they're doing this complicated handshake where Google gets to play with Character's cool toys, but Character AI stays its own thing.

Elon Musk is taking OpenAI and its boss Sam Altman to court. He says they tricked people when they changed from a non-profit to a for-profit company.

Here is the scoop:

  • Musk says OpenAI broke its promise to make AI that helps everyone.

  • The new lawsuit claims OpenAI broke serious laws about organized crime and cheated people many times.

  • OpenAI says Musk is wrong and that he was okay with the change before.

  • Musk tried to sue them earlier but stopped. Now he's trying again.

OpenAI is having a tough day. They've had big changes in who's running things, and now Musk is challenging how they make money. This lawsuit might reveal secrets about OpenAI, like why some leaders left and what new AI they've made.

  • It can make pictures in different sizes and styles.

Who made it:

  • Some people used to work on another famous AI called Stable Diffusion.
