Harvard Students Turn Smart Glasses into Privacy Threat
Two Harvard students found a way to hack Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses to track and identify strangers in public. Their tool, called I-XRAY, can find people's names, addresses, and personal details just by looking at them.
What They Did
The students, AnhPhu Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio, built a system that:
Breaks into the glasses to send video to a computer
Uses AI to scan faces
Searches the web for matching faces
Finds personal details about people
The Test
Found info about many classmates without asking
Proved it worked by talking to people using their private info
Did this without people knowing they were being scanned
Are we ready for a world where our data is exposed at a glance? @CaineArdayfio and I offer an answer to protect yourself here:

Why It's Worrying
Meta's glasses have safety features like a light that shows when they're recording. But this hack shows these safety measures don't work well enough. People could use this to:
Stalk others
Steal personal info
Trick people
Harm privacy
What This Means
This shows how easy it is to misuse smart glasses. It warns us that:
Current safety features aren't enough
We need better rules about this tech
Privacy is at risk from smart glasses
Companies must make safer products

Meta Takes On AI Video Creation with New MovieGen Tool
Meta just showed off MovieGen, its new AI tool that makes and edits videos from text. Users can create videos just by typing what they want to see.
What's New:
MovieGen comes with four main parts:
- A tool that turns text into videos
- A system that adds sounds and music
- A feature that makes custom videos
- An editor that changes videos using simple commands
The tool can make clear, 16-second videos with matching sounds. Users can also change videos by typing what they want to fix, or upload pictures to help create new videos.
How Good Is It?
Meta says MovieGen works better than other AI video tools, including OpenAI's Sora. They tested it against other top tools and found that people liked MovieGen's videos more.
What's Next
Mark Zuckerberg, says Instagram will get MovieGen next year. He shared some videos showing what it can do.
Why It Matters:
MovieGen makes it easy for anyone to create and edit videos. You won't need to learn complex video editing - just type what you want. When it comes to Instagram, this means more people can make great videos without special skills.
Meta outlines more technical detail for Movie Gen in a 92-page research paper: Read Here
