🪰 Buzz Around AI

Do you think there could be an AI that can think better than us?

I don’t think so. But many people believe it and they are working to develop one.

SingularityNET is setting up a bunch of super-fast computers all over the world. They want to use these to make really smart AI - the kind that can think like humans or even better. They call this AGI.

What they're doing:

  • Using very powerful computer parts from Nvidia and AMD

  • Making special software called OpenCog Hyperon that anyone can use

  • Letting people join in and use the network if they have special tokens

  • Hoping to make AI that's super smart, maybe even smarter than humans

Why it's a big deal:

Right now, only big companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are working on this super-smart AI.

SingularityNET wants to change that by letting more people work on it.

The FCC is taking action against AI-generated voice calls.

The other day, something crazy happened!

I got a phone call, and I thought it was from some customer executive.

But then, I noticed something strange. The timing was a little off, and the voice didn't respond when I interrupted.

That's when I realized—I was talking to an AI!

I guess you might have got this type of call to lately.

FCC is trying to do something about it.

They’re planning to make a rule where these AI voices have to tell you upfront that they’re not real people.

They're also looking into some cool tech stuff to help us spot these AI calls and texts. Things like better call filters and ways to flag suspicious calls on your phone.

To be honest it's not just about the tech. They're saying we need to educate people too, especially older ones who might be easier targets for scams.

It's wild to think about, isn't it?

We're living in a time where we might need to ask, when we answer the phone!

🪄Intelligent Moment of AI

😁 I loved how cool the idea is Robot is ironing my clothes and also chopping vegetables for me.

Looks like now I have the time to focus on my career and all my household chores will be done by robot.

A German company called Neura made a human-like robot. They showed it doing house tasks in a new video.

Neura is working with Nvidia to make smart robots that can do many jobs.

♨️ What’s Hot In AI

Google Meet will be introducing an AI-powered 'Take notes For me' feature soon.

I always wondered if there could be an app that can help me take my notes while meeting. So that I can stay focused on your meeting while the app captures all the important points.

To my surprise today I just saw the news that Google is introducing a new "Take notes for me" feature in Google Meet, powered by its Gemini AI.

While you're chatting away, this AI (they're calling it Gemini) listens in and jots down the important stuff.

It’s like I don’t have to do frantic scribbling during calls!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The AI will automatically take notes during your Google Meet calls, so you won’t have to do it yourself.

  • This feature is available for Google Workspace customers with certain add-ons. Also, it is part of the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on, which costs $10 per user per month.

  • Admins can control who gets access to this feature through the Google Workspace Admin console.

Why is this important?

Because it signals a shift towards a future where AI handles the tedious tasks for us.

Google is not only making work easier. It is also stepping up its game against smaller AI companies like Otter AI and Fireflies, which offer similar services.

📰 AI News

  1. In a Series D funding round, Glean, which builds AI-powered search platforms for companies, is expected to raise $250M.

  2. OpenAI introduces DALL·E 3 image generation for free ChatGPT users, but with limitations.

  3. The class action lawsuit filed by artists alleging Stability, Runway, and DeviantArt illegally trained their AIs on copyrighted works can move forward

  4. According to Meta and Universal Music Group (UMG), a multi-year music licensing agreement has been expanded.

That allows Meta users to share songs from UMG's library without violating copyright across Meta's platforms.

Well, that's all for today.
